" We provide extensive dietary guidance to
help individuals learn to restore healthy eating habits."
Upon entering the program, all participants will have a one-on-one
assessment with a Registered Dietitian. This will be utilized to discuss
current food intake and its ability to maintain health, as well as to
understand emotional associations with food. During the session, an
individualized meal plan may be developed with the client and/or family
members.
Through ongoing follow-up, the dietitian and client develop a collaborative
relationship in which nutritional issues can be safely addressed. Attention
will be given to planning nutritious meals, portion sizes, and education
about metabolism, as well as confronting food avoidances. The goals
of nutrition therapy are to establish normalized eating behaviors and
a healthy relationship with food.
The care team’s recommendations and the client’s personal
needs determine frequency of nutrition follow-up.
